Road Trip Part 3: Huilo Huilo Biological Reserve
From the moment I saw the Pinterest post on Montana Magica Lodge in Huilo Huilo, I was enamored with the hotel, and never in a million years did I think I'd get a chance to visit this "Hobbit House." We booked a couple of nights at this magical resort nestled in a biological reserve, hoping it would live up to the hype.
Road Trip Part 2: Pucon & Waterfalls
When the light started to roll in the next morning, we realized we were floating in the clouds. The house was high up on a hill, so we had clear views of the mountains, and the fog helped give Pucon a magical feel. Our hike to Salto del Claro was about 90 minutes, and was complete with beautiful vistas of adjacent farmland as well as various types of farm animals grazing on the rolling fields.
Road Trip Part 1: Southern Chile
Whenever you research travel in Chile, you'll see the country is divided into three main sections: the North (Atacama), the center (Santiago) and the south (Patagonia). When we first arrived to Santiago, we had a couple of weeks before our jobs began, so we decided to take advantage of our time off and explore the south. While we couldn't make it as far as Patagonia, we found some of the most beautiful vistas and scrumptious food we've ever seen and tasted.
